Description: This listing is for a wonderful Marquetry box that dates to the late 1800's.It measures a large 16 x 9 x 5 3/4".Ornate designs are featured on top and 3 sides.This is an unusual example as it still retains the original interior.It is lined in a deep blue velvet and edges are trimmed in embossed gold foil strips.Individual lidded compartments are set into a removable tray.Once removed, the tray reveals more space below.Condition is really nice overall, reflecting only careful use.The velvet is a little thin in places, Photography is not kind and shows lint and color changes that do not exist in person.The paper foils are pretty much intact with a few ragged edges.
