Description: Estate find! Rare collectible antique figural inkwell, c. 1913. Metal baseball (cast iron?) sits atop a step-down base with four 'bases' at the corners. The hinged lid of the baseball opens to reveal the glass ink jar nestled inside. The jar is original and in excellent condition with no chips or cracks (it even has a little ~100 year old ink dust in it). Everything is mechanically/structurally sound. The ball section has a nice antique patina, while there are a few areas of discoloration on the base as shown. Patent stamped September 2, 1913 on the bottom. Measures approximately 3.5" tall, and 4.25" square at the base. See photos for more detail, and please feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking!
