Description: This is a stunning antique crazy quilt. Made from scraps of fabric with decorative stitches around each. Dated February 5, 1906. Location of Summerfield, NC. Rockingham Co. A great piece of local history from Rockingham county, North Carolina. Edwardian era. The back of the quilt is made of striped flannel type material. Measures approximately 75 3/4 inches X 65 3/8 inches. A variety of fabrics - wool, cotton, etc. Different stitches with embroidery on several sections - a couple of birds, some flowers, the date (February 5, 1906) and location (Summerfield, NC), the maker's initials, HOME, etc. Condition: Please view all photographs and consider them part of the description. Some fraying on a cotton section as seen in photo #10. Some mild staining to the white patches in photo #11. Photo #13 shows 2 two small holes in a patch. Photo 21 shows some fraying on the rolled edge. Overall in Good to Very Good antique condition.
