The letter is illustrated with a humorous original folk art drawing showing the difference a new handkerchief makes in his appearance. The letter is written on a sheet of paper which measures approximately 9 1/2 inches by 5 1/8 inches. It has some remnants of adhered paper on the backside from having been previously mounted.
