Description: This is a set of antique Mintons serving platters. These wonderful platters each have the same diamond back stamp, which tells us they were made Oct 2, 1867. The back stamp also tells us the pattern used was "Chinese Key", and was made using clay. There is a border of pink and purple floral swags accented with green leaves and branches. Red, blue and gold "keys" sit between the floral swags. The outer rim is gold and there is a red and blue pattern around the inner portion of the platters. All features are meticulously hand painted on a transferware pattern. Made in England. The smaller platter is 11.75" long x 10.25" wide x 1.125" high. The larger platter is 15.25" long x 11.50" wide x 1.50" high. These platters are in good condition considering their age . There are no cracks. The smaller platter has one tiny chip that is visible under magnification. Both platters show wear and crazing, with the larger platter showing more discoloration. We are not experts, but we try to provide as much information as possible, including pictures from several angles. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or requests for additional photos and we'll be happy to help!
