Written Originally in Italian describing the author's travels on trading ships from 1693 - 1699; translated into English. This book is 606 pages. Each page margin has a date ranging from 1693 through 1699. Then begins pages 607 - 632 which is "An Account of the Shipwreck of a Dutch VESSEL on the Coaft of the Ifle of Quelpaert, together with the Defcription of the Kingdom of Corea". Translated out of French. This is the first description of Corea (Korea) to reach Europe brought by formerly shipwrecked sailors imprisoned in Korea for 13 years who escaped and made their way back to Europe. This shipwreck story was written by Dutch sailor Hendrick Hamil (1630 - 1692) whose last name is in the margin of each page of the book.13 engravings including 7 fold out engravings, 4 half page engravings in text, 1 full page engraving in text, 1 two-sided full-page engraving with 4 images on each side + a small drawing in text. Most engravings excellent.The "title page" gives us no publication location, publisher, nor date. I have seen references to this information published in London in 1704.
