Description: This is an old hand-painted Dutch piece of pottery. Made in Goudaby Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland, this footed candleholder is decorated with a pattern called Vlist (butterfly). The candleholder is executed in the typical Art Nouveau style. The piece is fully marked with the model number 955 over the PZH house (Lazarus Gate) symbol, the October 1919 year mark, words “GOUDA HOLLAND” and the decorator’s initials “PA” .These initials stand for Pieter van der Akker, the artist who worked for PZH from 1919 to 1928.On the bottom, there are remnants of the original sticker. The height of the piece is approximately 12”, the diameter of the base is approximately 5 1/4”.
