Description: ANNIE, 3 Sheet Poster, No Theatre, Tour, 1978. The musical opened in NYC on 04/08/77 and ran for 2377 performances. Artwork but no cast or other credits listed -- just award banners from Theatre World, Drama Desk, Grammy, Outer Critics' Circle, Tony, NY Drama Critics and Cue's Golden Apple. Music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin and book by Thomas Meehan (based on the comic strip Little Orphan Annie created by Harold Gray). Directed by Martin Charnin and choreographed by Peter Gennaro. The photo was taken standing on a step ladder, hence the slanted appearance, but the poster is rectangular. Some of the posters have minor tears or short creases in the folds which have been repaired on the back with thin archive tape. Condition is near excellent with minor wear. 3 Sheet Posters are advertising theatre posters printed on heavy paper and usually come folded in more than one section like old billboards -- hence the name. Commonly displayed in subway stations and most famously in areas like Shubert Alley in Manhattan's Theatre District. This is NOT a reproduction!! CONDITION: I use a six-step condition scale to describe the overall paper quality: Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor. Good means just that: desireable for a collection with no immediate need to upgrade. Excellent and Mint are usually reserved for publisher and music store remainders. Expect Good-minus and Fair to have considerable wear. All specific condition faults are noted after the general condition. IMAGES: I use a digital camera so the entire piece is visible.
