Description: Very pretty Anna Richards Brewster oil on canvas mounted on masonite painting on a woman in Whitby, a fishing village in Northern England. It would have been executed in the mid-1890's. I believe it's unsigned but does have the typical small red estate stamp verso and a Kennedy Galleries, New York City provenance. Canvas size is 13.25" x 8.75", and it is 17.75" x 13.25" in it's good looking frame. Linen liner is also in clean and good condition. Mrs Brewster is highly collectible and very nicely listed. Her larger figures are pretty rare as landscapes with small figures were her forte. The woman is sensitively rendered and very moving. I have added a copy of her biography (taken from an older listing of another piece) as the final photograph, but let ask if you need more specifics or pictures.
