The designs are a beautiful representation of the Mayan culture, and each piece is unique in its own way. Whether you're a collector or simply looking for a unique addition to your home decor, this ancient Mexican Mayan pottery is sure to impress. Is this ancient or is this a reproduction. I have no way of knowing, but I did purchase it from a very, very, very wealthy collector that lost his Storage unit when he died. He had all types of artifacts in his storage unit, so I am assuming that this is genuine, you’re taking the chance, but this is a very beautiful piece regardless. Upmost care will be used to package this with miles of bubble wrap and a large size box I really don’t know very much about artifacts and I don’t even know what they are worth. I specialize in so many different items. This is one thing I am genuinely not the most proficient on so please accordingly. You might have a $10,000 item and you might have $100 item but regardless it looks like a $10,000 item, I don’t even know where I would go to get it authenticated besides flying it to Mexico and that is not an option right now. And then if it was found to be authentic, would they even let me leave the country with it are thoughts going through my head, trying to decide whether it’s worth it to try to authenticate this or not so if anybody else has any more knowledge or discernment on this subject, please let me know because I am really in the dark on this one. It looks so authentic, but looks can be deceiving. I would hate to see somebody spend$10,000 on something and then did not turn out genuine even if you did spend 10,000 on it. It is beautiful and if it’s not genuine, it fooled me. Even if this is a knock off, it’s one of the nicest knock offs I’ve ever seen and the paint is faded just perfectly to really imitate a genuine piece of antique antiquity. The only reason I’m starting the auction at $100 is just on the chance that it is knock off and even if it’s knock off, it’s worth $100
