There is no glass and no pointers.There seems to be a printed makers mark of Negelein, a renowned Germany maker. All in all a great little item, which forms an interesting display piece, or addition to a collection of antique scientific or apothecary items. The compass measures about 2.2 inches (5.8 cm) square.
