Featuring all the clichés of consumerism from advertisements for sexy underwear to comic strips, Pop Art fixed many of the icons of modern life in the popular imagination. With influences from Dadaism and Surrealism, artists such as Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns gave form to the ideas of Pop Art while Andy Warhol and his work came to be regarded as its incarnation.
