Description: Altec-Lansing inMotion iM716 IEMs with Case(manufactured by Etymotic) I purchased these IEMs years ago and they've been in conditioned storage at Beezar Audio ever since. I'm now retired, so am clearing out some of my stuff. The Altec-Lansing inMotion IEMs were an early introduction to IEMs and reportedly manufactured by Etymotic. They have a distinctly Etymotic look, feel, and sound to them and while the sound quality is not as good as the best Etymotic makes, they do a great job with all genres. The dongle gives you volume control and there is a Bass switch that actually changes the impedance to favor a bigger bass response. Some of us recall that there were DIY-mods to Etymotic's early runs of ER4 and others that did the same thing - adding impedance in the headphone cable to enhance the bass. These do that for you with the dongle and make it vastly easier to switch back and forth (rather than soldering up a cable each time), depending on your particular preference and/or music at any given time. I always thought the case, while a bit bulky by today's standards for IEMs, was neat. It's quite easy to place the IEMs in the case, then wind the cable, place the dongle in the case, and then finish winding the cable and snapping the assembly back into the cloth-covered case. It's easier to feel it than describe it, but it gives one a "high-touch" to counter the "high-tech." The case has successfully preserved the headphones for well over a decade. Note that you may need an amp to get the full potential out of these headphones and may sound a bit puny on a typical smartphone or other DAP.
