This is a surface mount to be installed over the field tile (semi-flush) and not flush with it. There is about 3/8-inch overlay on the surrounding field tile. Depth needed for installation is 1/4 inch from finished surface. Projection from finished surface is 3 inches.Make the field tile cut out 4-1/4" X 4-1/4" for an easy install. The largest size toilet paper roll that will fit in this fixture is 4-5/8" diameter; however, with a simple $6 toilet paper roll extender, you can use the Mega-Giant toilet paper rolls up to 5-1/4" diameter.
