Description: Allegheny, PA Civil War era CDV man w bulky tie, shiny hair by Harbaugh & Green This vignette portrait is a little unusual. The gentleman is very young. The portrait oval is quite large for the size of the CDV. Our subject has such an interesting expression...sort of a world-weariness. I like this portrait a lot. On reverse is printed:"PhotographedByHarbaugh & GreenNo. 43 Federal Street,Allegheny." Yellowing to image. Slight fading to image. Soiling to card and image. Foxing (brown spotting) to image. Pencil marks on reverse. Card measures about 4 x 2.5 inches. Photo measures 3.5 x 2.25 inches. Portrait vignette is about 2.25 x 1.75 inches. My mother was a photographer who collected antique photos of all types for years. As I am settling her estate, I will be listing these photos as quickly as I am able. There are hundreds of photos to go through, and I am trying to match any information my mother may have left with individual photos. Unfortunately, Mom had dementia at the end of her life and wasn't able to tell me much about her collection. She had done a lot of research into photographers and individual pieces in her collection, and often, but not always, filed her research with the photo(s). I search for more information on the internet and in history books, but it's a slow process and it will take me a long time to complete the sorting and selling process.
