No Reserve! DESCRIPTION Allan Holdsworth - “I.O.U.” Enigma Records 72031-1 (Stereo) from 1985. Hard to Find Original 1985 U.S. Reissue Pressing of this great Prog /Fusion / Rock / Jazz album from Allan Holdsworth backed by Paul Williams, Paul Carmichael and Gary Husband. Originally Self Released in 1982 on his own label, this is a 1985 Enigma reissue on the early Red Labels. In the Original Shrink Wrapped Cover with a Hype Sticker and NO cutouts. Pressed on Black Vinyl which is slightly Translucent when held before a bright light - probably an Audiophile Vinyl like Quiex II or KC 569 Blend Premium Virgin Vinyl by KM Records. This is an Original First Pressing (of this U.S. Pressing) as indicated by the Matrix / Vinyl Runout markings which read: Matrix / Runout (Side A, Etched): 72031-1 - A G-1 SLM △10214 1-1 E___ MASTERED BY CAPITOL Ⓜ Ƨ-14845Matrix / Runout (Side B, Etched): 72031-1 - B G-1 SLM △10214-X 1-1 E___ MASTERED BY CAPITOL Ⓜ Ƨ-14846 CONDITION The Sleeve is in its Original Shrink Wrap and in great shape. There is some slight ring impression, some slight corner softening and a touch of wear on the two right hand corners where the shrink is pulled back. Super solid with no splits, stains, tears, writing, cutouts, etc. and would rate at least EX overall. The Vinyl is in Pristine, Glossy condition looking barely played and possibly even Unplayed. If you really look closely you might be able to spot a couple light scuffs but still very close to New condition and easily Near Mint. The labels are also NM. If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words: Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them.
