Description: For the Baseball Hobbyist. . . 2017-2018 Major League Baseball Postcard Set ~ Only postcard set officially licensed by MLB 20 Different Baseball STAR Player Postcards ~ Each card individually numbered #xxx/500 A Numbered Limited Edition of just 500 sets issued by Photo File These vibrant 4" by 6" full-color photo postcards were issued by Photo File in 2017. A very limited edition of just 500 high quality impressions, Photo File cards are the only officially licensed postcards by Major League Baseball. The front features an unobstructed full color photograph of a major baseball star while the reverse identifies the player with his position, team affiliation (and logo) and postcard back design. Most significantly, the limited edition status (#XXX / 500) is noted just above the individual card number. Again, just 500 examples of each card exists. This is the first series of Photo File postcards. An even more limited series of 4 Major League all-stars was issued in 2018. Just 100 of each of those cards was manufactured. Reminiscent of the popular - and scarce - Bill and Bob Milwaukee Braves postcards of the mid-1950s, these cards are candidates for any hall (or wall) of fame. ~ About the Scans ~ The first five scans picture each of the 20 cards individually and show the backs of a select few cards. A factory-sealed set (front and back) appears in scans 6-7. The last scan shows 3 cards mounted in a 3-pocket sheet. These 4" by 6" postcards fit best in newer style 3-pocket sheets or even standard 2-pocket sheets designed for photos and cards up to 5" by 7" in size. The last scan shows three cards mounted in a 3-pocket sheet. The cards are too large for standard 4-pocket sheets made for old-style postcards. Note: While each card is individually numbered (of 500 issued), a complete set of 20 cards typically contains mostly different set numbers. The first one we opened, for example, contains the following individual set numbers (again, of 500): Card #1 (010 / 500), #2 (196 / 500), #3 (195 / 500), #4 (193 /500), #5 (195 / 500), #6 (184 / 500), #7 (193 / 500), etc. Also: Photo File typically placed a different card on top. The sets we opened were in numerical order (1-20) except for the top card.These MLB full-color limited edition postcards are the perfect medium for obtaining autographs and make great gifts.
