Description: This vintage real photo postcard features French opera singer, Aline Valandri (aka Vallandri) (1878-1952). Valandri studied music at the Paris Conservatory. She made her debut at the Opera-Comique in 1904. She appeared there for about thirty years. She was renowned as an opera singer but equally renowned for the beauty of her blonde hair. In fact, she wrote a book in 1912 that advised women on how to maximize the beauty of their hair. She listed many of her methods for keeping her own hair so beautiful. She claimed to only devote 45 minutes a day to hair care though she had the benefit of a maid to assist her. Interestingly, she never reused a brush. This vintage postcard was published by SIP as part of a series (no.1161). The card is color tinted. The postcard is in fair condition due to foxing on it's reverse (see scans).
