Description: AIR MINISTRY (RAF) STOPWATCH - 6B/221 (DATED 1941) A superb, fully functional stopwatch as issued to aircrew during WW2. These would have been used by Navigators and Pilotsduring flight, in conjunction with charts and Wind Speed Calculators, to plot position/heading (note the compass markings around the outside of dial). Markings to rear of case indicate that it was issued mid -war (1941). Marked Goldsmiths & Silversmiths. In excellent condition (most unusual). Button on top is used to wind. It is also used (by depressing) to start stop/start/reset. A fantastic piece of aviation history.
