Description: Here is a beautiful formation of petrified coral, from Ballast Point, in Florida, partially agatized. These formations are often sawed and polished, to reveal the internal botryoidal Chalcedony/Agate formations. Personally, I like the ones that re unpolished, such as this one, where a natural opening allows us to look inside, but also still allows to view the patterning of the corral at the outside, such as in this specimen. The Chalcedony formations have a slightly blueish tint to them, which is a bonus. This is a rather large specimen for this material, weight is 961 grams, or 2 lb and 1 7/8 oz.
