Description: A Very Unusual Matching Pair of Vintage Japanese Blue & White Bowls A very nice and very unusual pair of matching vintage Japanese blue and white lipped bowls with fan motifs and brown rims. Although clearly marked to the base I've been unable to identify the maker's mark but these are close (in decoration) to some Arita porcelain from the second half of the 20th century so I would estimate these are not before 1960. The form of the bowls is very unusual with a good sized foot and large lipped rim with all round fan decoration. The inner rim also overhangs the bowl section itself (which isn't very practical for a food bowl) so these may actually be brush washers or water coupes? They are a very good size at 18.5cm diameter (rim to rim) and 9.5cm inner rim and each weigh 0.6kg. They are also both in excellent condition with no cracks or chips.
