Description: This is an original 1920 hardcover printing of the rare book "A Manual of Microscopy," written by Leasure Darbaker, a professor at the University of Pittsburgh. Containing 215 pages, the book offers a great look at the use of the microscope for various applications, especially cell analysis. This particular copy was used by a pharmacy student who went on to run the prominent Euler Pharmacy in the Natrona Heights PA area, northeast of Pittsburgh; given the future success of this student, it should come as no surprise that the book is absolutely filled with written notes on page after page. Overall, the copy being offered is in fair vintage condition. As mentioned, there are a LOT of written notations all throughout the book. Some pages also have dog-ear creases, small tears, and one repaired tear on pages 119-120 that was patched with a square sticker (shown in my final photo). The covers have moderate surface wear, most noticeably in the corners, which are a little rounded and have some fraying. Also, as shown in my 5th photo, there is minor glue residue on the pages just inside the covers. The binding has stiffened slightly but remains strong.
