Description: 1st edition although possibly a second binding as there is an errata slip at the end of the contents dated 1927. the volume contains much of Alfred Denis Godley's works which, up until this date ( the year after he died) had not been published elsewhere. It is an exhaustive rendering of much of his work including his humorous vein of poetry, his orations & lectures. He was much admired in academic circles, especially in Oxford where he was based. Black boards are a little marked & the age is showing, with dusty page edges with handling marks all round but a firm enough copy. Portrait of Godley as f/s guttering a little strained here. There was a second vol which seems to be available on other bookselling sites.. The print on demand copies are rather expensive at £40 plus. A curious mixture of high learning & debunking of the higher echelons of the establishment with a very lively sense of humour!
