Description: Rare Victorian 9ct Gold “ LAD “ hair Ring This is a beautifully quality ring which is very rare as the band is made of a single hair of a game animal. These types of rings were made in foreign lands when people went on trips into the jungles and deserts when on Grand Tours. This was in the late Georgian and Victorian eras when cameras were not invented and photos could not be taken , so momentos like this were brought home as souvenirs of there adventures in foreign lands. The ring dates to the early Victorian era around 1840 - 1860. Around the single game animal hair is very thin piece of leather which is wrapped round to give it a beautiful twist decoration and extra strength so it does not break. This band is in good condition with no rips or damage. Has a 9ct rose gold plaque on the front which is engraved - LAD Box is for display and not included but will come in a new ring box. Overall in good original condition with no damage or marks. Ring size ---- UK SIZE ( M 1/2 ) The gold plaque measures - 0.5 cm in height x 0.9 cm wide.
