Soft shackles have very high working loads at a fraction of the weight and cost of an equivalent SWL stainless steel fitting. Soft Shackles may be used for block attachment, halyard attachment, sheet attachment, hanks, and so forth - any purpose where a knot or a heavy metal fitting is used can be replaced with an appropriately sized soft shackle.
