Description: This is a grouping of 8 antique photographs, all of people (men and women) and all as what I think are "cabinet cards". Most items show some degree of moisture damage as well as use and age-related wear. All are sepia tone and portrait orientation. See below for individual item descriptions and condition: 1. A 2-1/2" x 4-1/8" image of a man with glasses. The actual image is about 2-1/4" x 1-5/8" in size and the item is on a matte board (?). The photo company name is present, but I can't make it out. It looks like "DOLDIN" and "Washington" but that's all I can guess at. There is water damage to the card. Portrait orientation and sepia tones. The back has written "Louisa ? Stephen" in dark ink and another name in very faded ink. 2. Image of an older man, seated, with a white beard and his finger/hand on the left side of his head. Portrait orientation and sepia tones. On matte board and measures 4-1/4" wide x 6-1/2" high. There is water staining. The image is dated 1887 and was produced by "Knowlton Photo Artist, 335 Fourth Avenue, New York". The back has the same photo studio information with an inked note "Mrs. Whiteside. With my best wishes. June 23/87. Mr. Thos W. ????" 3. Female image (head and shoulders) with a ribbon choker and shawl, measuring 3-7/8" x 5-5/8", on matte board (which measures 4-1/4" x 6-1/2" in portrait orientation). Sepia tones and produced by "Heimberger & Son, New Albany, Ind". The back side has advertising for the same photo studio and pencil writing "Valeene, popular girl, Rhoda McDonald, 1890's". Age-related wear but good condition. 4. Female image (head and shoulders) with a collared blouse and jacket. Same size and company as #3 above. In addition to advertising on the back side, it also has written "Worda Sumers" in pencil. Slight spotting but nice condition. 5. Middle aged male image, wearing a jacket and tie. Short hair and a moustache. Lapel pin. Overexposed. Measures 3-7/8" x 5-1/2" (image) on a matte board that measures 4-1/4" x 6-1/2". Portrait orientation. Produced by "J.L. Summers Photographer". The back has written "Mrs. Eligah Tower, Campbellsburg Ind" (?) in pencil. Slight staining and wear but good condition. 6.Oval, sepia tone image of a female facing left (head and chest) in a simple dress. Photo is mounted on a dark matte board with an embossed "frame" around the image. The matte reads "Downing, Xenio, O" in the lower, right corner. The back is blank. The photo, in portrait orientation, measures 3-1/16" wide x 4-1/8" high and the matte board measures 5" wide x 7-1/8" high. Slight wear. 7 and 8. These are different sizes of the same image. Oval sepia tone image of a man in a button shirt with a simple embossed "frame" on tan matte board. The lower, right reads "Burger, Frederick" on the smaller item and also has "MD" (Maryland) on the larger item. The smaller image measures 3-1/2" wide x 5" high and the smaller matte board measures 5-3/4" wide x 8-1/2" high. The larger item image is the same size as the smaller, but the matte board measures 6-1/2" wide x 9-1/2" high. There is a fancy, embossed "frame around the edges of the larger matte item. Backs on both are blank and there is some wear and spotting to the smaller image (mostly at the edges) which just slight wear (nicer condition) to the larger item. I have tried to describe any issues with this item as much as possible. I can post additional photos upon request and will try to answer any questions you might have that weren't addressed above. If you want to purchase more than one item, let me know and I will wait until your purchases are complete, then I will send a single invoice with one shipping charge.
