Wear with a slip as it in not lined and a bit sheer in certain lighting though it's a night time dress that is all up to you. The dress has stretch to it. A poly rayon blend. If you are aware of fabric from this era, it has 'that" texture. It shimmers black and silver. A front two cut pleat at the waist. It may have once had a belt but it is belt less with a spot where perhaps a belt string once was. I am 5'10' and a modern size 14. This fit me but it was snug I recommend for a size 10/12.
