This is a new design for all 70 and up Pontiac's. The larger 69 starter bracket was re-designed for 70 and this is what it looked like. The bracket mounts to the motor mount bolt and to the stud on the end of the starter. This bracket supports the end of the starter so that it does not hang at an angle causing binding on the flywheel. If you starter has ever been replaced this bracket is most likely missing. This is an exact inline tube reproduction made identical to the factory original. This is an exact stamping of the original that is black powder coat and ready to bolt on.
