About Kishu White Binchotan - Otsukomaru Kishu binchotan is made in the city of Tanabe in Wakayama prefecture, and is the most widely recognized as the finest quality binchotan available in the world. The municipality is dedicated to maintaining the quality born of tradition in all its binchotan production by using ubame oak wood. The Kishu white binchotan hanmaru are halved pieces of the kishu binchotan, and will therefore be easier to light than the komaru. -Manufactured in Wakayama, Japan. -Burn Time: 4-5 Hours -Type - Ubame Oak Preparation Allow the charcoal sit over a direct flame for 30 minutes to an hour. Fan the charcoal to heat faster. Caution Please do not burn charcoal indoors, only in well ventilated areas. All types of burning charcoal will produce odorless Carbon Monoxide gas.
