Description: Siberian Iris Mixed Colors 'New Hybrids'Iris sibirica These seeds are choice selections from a wide-range of several top new Iris sibirica hybrids. The most common colors for Siberian Iris are blue, blue/purple, and white. Which is lovely, of course! However, this selection intends to offer more of an available array of the color spectrum available for Siberian Iris, ranging from deeper purples, radiant yellows and pale lavender shades, and of course white, which is the hardest to find in hybrid mixes these days. A must-have for every perennial border and garden, Siberian Irises are durable, low-maintenance and highly regarded. Top dress regularly with compost, keep mulched and provide a sunny, evenly moist location. It's a bit of work to get the seeds germinated, but it's not difficult - it just requires patience. Instructions are below: Sowing Instructions: Shake in dry sharp sand or nick carefully with a file (optional, but can increase germination percentage). Maintain constant moisture and cooler temperatures over a long period by keeping seeds in a bag with moist sand, peat, or moist paper towel - first at room temperatures (64-71ºF) for 2-4 weeks, then a refrigerator for 4-6 weeks to simulate winter dormancy conditions. Plant moist seeds and media directly into pots, trays or directly into soil after cold treatment. Germination occurs irregularly over a long period - patience is key.
