Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a nice 5-volume set of first edition books titled "History of the American People" written by Woodrow Wilson and published in 1902. Books have red hard cover with embossed gilded title and spine and gilt decoration on top of pages. Outside spine area is slightly faded and covers show minor wear at corners. There is normal foxing on tissue mounted across from each illustration. Bindings are intact and overall condition is considered to be very good. These books were copyrighted in 1901 and 1902 and were produced in New York and London by Harper & Brothers Publishers. They were written by Woodrow Wilson while he was President of Princeton University and prior to his becoming the 28th President of the United States from 1913-1921. Books are nicely illustrated with portraits, maps, plans, facsimiles, rare prints, contemporary views, etc. Each book measures 8 7/8" long, 6" wide and 1 3/4" thick. Each book weighs slightly over 3 pounds. I am not a book collector and purchased this set of books on a buying trip simply because they were so beautiful. I am selling the books "as found" and have not tried to clean the covers or restore them in any way.
