Description: I have for your consideration this new, Arduino based GPSDO with integrated 4 channel sine wave distribution amplifier. It uses a UBLOX Neo-M8N GPS to control a Bliley NV47M1008 10MHz 5V OCXO Crystal Oscillator. The Bliley is the best OCXO I have used for these designs. It has the most stable, lowest noise signal of all of the OCXO’s I use. Its double walled enclosure helps with thermal stability and I wrap it with insulation foam to obtain maximum isolation from thermal variation. It is getting especially hard to find so get one while they last. This is a new build using US sourced (Mouser) components and shipped from the USA. The 4x 10MHz Sine Wave Reference Signals can be used to control your frequency based test equipment or radios. It has exceptionally clean signals that are accurate to approximately 0.001Hz. The output strength of each channel is 3.83Vpp (1.34Vrms). The compact aluminum enclosure comes in at 106x55x150mm (WxHxL). This is the most popular GPSDO build I have due to the incorporated distribution amplifier and robust control software. The PLL control is accomplished using an Arduino Nano that can be monitored via computer using the rear serial data connection. Using Arduino IDE software (or other serial terminal software), you can monitor the output performance characteristics and make adjustments to the gain and other parameters. Note: this requires knowledge of Arduino programming and GPS control systems but is not necessary for use. Simply plug in the unit, allow the GPS to obtain a lock, and the device is ready for use. To setup for use: connect and place antenna in area with good view of the sky and plug in the unit. I typically get 12 satellites when placing the antenna in a north or south facing window sill. Once the GPS locks onto several satellites and the OCXO warms up (~15 minutes) the reference signal will self calibrate and the green “GPS Lock” LED will light up. The GPSDO can then be used. LED Status: On-Blinking: Acquiring satellite lock Off: Satellite lock completed, acquiring OCXO lock On-Solid: GPS & OCXO locked, ready for use What’s included: GPSDO w/4 channel distribution amplifier, power cord, GPS antenna. What’s NOT included: any additional hardware shown for demonstration purposes (frequency counters, oscilloscopes, etc). Anything not specifically listed in “What’s included“
