Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Wonderful collection of 48 snapshots on 16 separate photo-album pages that came from a circa 1920 album. It came down through the Shull family, which has roots in Columbia and vicinity. Unfortunately, I don’t know who put these album pages together. Any page that is obviously missing a photo is how it was when I came into possession of this small archive – I have not removed any photographs from the lot to sell separately. Also, it's worth knowing that each page has photos only on one side. Some clues as to the locale are found in a few captions, such as “Ruins of Old Locks, Old Saluda Dam”; “River – near ‘Old Saluda’”; “Congaree River and Bridge”; “Upper Meeting Street Looking West”; Lower Meeting Street Looking East”. There also a photo of an approaching locomotive captioned “Tailorsville – No Stop.” I can’t figure out where that is. Another train photo is captioned “A Wreck!”, but I think it’s either tongue in cheek or it wasn’t a very serious head-on collision. Hard to tell whether the two trains are moving or are stationery (no smoke emits from either). Another shows an oncoming train with the caption “Makin’ Sixty.” Each photo measures 3.5 by 2.5 inches. Note that the first photo above is a mashup I pasted together on the computer. The second photo shows an entire album page (incidentally, these will be shipped as pages; there is no album included in the lot). All photos are on identical pages; however, to show the photos better, I cropped the scans so that you do not see the entire sheet. Every photo in this lot is represented in the scans. Please examine images carefully for condition detail; images are considered part of the description. Will combine shipping for multiple purchases. Thanks for looking!
