Description: .45 lb Exact two slabs shown. A nice display piece. The gold layer on top is most rare - This piece shows nice color on all sides. I consider this a display cabinet piece. Very rare - thin layer of gold on top. Of the 30,000+ lbs of Tiger Eye I shipped only one small batch shows this color. Last pictures are of the mine in South Africa. Very labor intensive, first the top cover is removed with a large Track Hoe, then workers manually shovel and pry the layers of Tiger Eye out of the ground, then carry up and out to the chipping area where the matrix is hand chipped off. Then sorted by color and grade. Hand loaded onto a truck and taken to the yard for final sorting. All in a desert area near the Kalahari.
