Description: Beautiful vintage set of 4 cups custard sake tea in the traditional flying Phoenix Bird pattern featuring a blue transfer print with flowers and scrolls, made in Japan, set includes backstamp , c. 1920s -1930's. Size 2 3/4" upper rim diameter 3" tall condition. No chips no cracks good and clean blue color varies on plates. Pattern:1921-1940 Light cobalt blue pattern on white porcelain of 2 phoenix birds with spots on breasts looking over left shoulders. The traditional pattern of Kiku (chrysanthemum flower in center) and Kiri (Paulownia plants) with a denser vines and leaves pattern flowing from them to surround the phoenix birds. The dish has the cloud and mountain border at the rim’s edge. Has the “T Japan in flower ” back stamp. In excellent condition.
