Description: 4 Caskata Celestial Magic Circles Astrology 8.5” Plates Gold Accents, New in Box Here is a set of 4 wonderful porcelain 8.5” plates from Caskata Artisanal Tableware. Founded in Massachusetts by designer Shawn Laughlin in 2007, Caskata produces hand decorated tableware of exceptional quality in small batches with designs that timelessly blend classic and contemporary aesthetics. Conversation with Caskata has identified these plates as from their Celestial Collection. The plates were created in Caskata’s Medfield, Massachusetts studio in 2009-2010. The collection has been retired and archived. The plates feature intricate and detailed “magic circles” as described on the reverse of one of the plates: Magic Circles Date back to ancient times. They were considered powerful tools, used to help harness the powers of the Universe to bring good fortune. The serpents in the circle represent Virility, Passion, and Love. The writings evoke wished for Prosperity and Longevity. Each of the four plates has a unique design based on ancient astrological and astronomical symbols and charts. All are black and vibrant metallic gold on creamy white porcelain. The plates measure just over 8.5” in diameter. They are unused and in their original box. The box does show some shelf wear and soiling. Each plate has a bit of roughness on the edge of the foot which I believe to be part of the production process.
