Description: Set of 4 AntiqueHanging Glass ShadesSteuben Up for auction is set of four antique Steuben Hanging Art Glass Shades, made to be used with an electric light fixture. These early electric shades have a flared bell shape and a hipped top. They are made in gold aurene over verre de soie, and thus have a silky, frosted, iridescent appearance. Each ribbed, cameo glass shade has a repeated pattern of acid cut cherubs holding garlands, and were likely made in the 1920's. The shades measure approximately 6.125 inches in height, while the opening at the base measures approximately 4.25 inches across in diameter. The opening at the top measures approximately 2.125 inches across in diameter (for a 2.25 inch fitter).All 4 shades are in great, vintage condition, with no cracks, scratches, stains, discolorations or repairs, nor any other damage that I can detect. However, all four shades have roughage or possible flea bites along the top edge of the fitter, with one shade having a small chip along that same edge.
