You are purchasing 25 solid brass, round headed pins nails rivets, the post on these rivets are 1/16 th or .065 of an inch across (diameter) and 3/8 inch long beneath the head. The head measures about 1/8 or .125 inch across. The color is a golden yellow and it contrasts nicely with steel. These rivets have a ton of applications and I use them for making and repairing medieval reproduction armor. They are suitable for use in all types of metals and leather. These have a pointed end like a nail but can be clipped down to length to make a smaller rivet. Theses are solid brass. In the riveting process, the rivet's shank is piened over into a mushroom, drawing the rivet head inward and creating tension between the two materials being joined. To pien any kind of rivet, use a ball-ended hammer and strike the rivet on an angle, working completely around the rivet. As the hammer strikes, it will creat a mushroom that pulls the rivet through the plates. when the mushroom is mostly set the hammer is turned and the rivet's dome is finished. If attaching a leather strap or other material to the back of a plate you may put a washer over the post of the rivet before mushrooming it to give a larger surface area so the rivet does not "pull through" the leather.
