Description: OK GUYS AND GALS, DO YOU LOVE MUSIC FROM THE EARLY ROCK ERA AND PRESENTED BY ONE OF ROCK N ROLL'S LEGENDS, COUSIN BRUCE MORROW IN ONE OF THE MOST ATTRACTIVE RADIO SHOW ALBUMS, LPS AND CUE SHEETS IN RADIO? (THE CUE SHEETS ARE EVEN PRINTED IN COLOR ON HEAVY BOND UNLIKE MANY SHOWS WHERE THEY WERE JUST COPIES AND IN BLACK AND WHITE)THESE ARE GREAT RADIO SHOWS FROM THOSE VINTAGE YEARS OF RADIO SHOWS WHEN DJs WERE ALLOWED TO BE DJs AND NOT JUST ROBOTS PLAYING 'MOST MUSIC', AND WHEN SHOWS HAD SPECIAL RARE INTERVIEWS AND OFTEN FASCINATING THEMES, AND NOT JUST THE SAME MUSIC EVERY HOUR, OVER AND OVER. YOU WILL LOVE NOT ONLY THIS SHOW BUT ALL THE SHOWS LISTED BY KEITH'S KOLLECTABLES.BUT THE UNIQUENESS OF THE SERIES IS THAT IT IS HOSTED BY ONE OF EARLY ROCK'S LIVING LEGENDS, COUSIN' BRUCIE MORROW. THERE ARE FEW DJs WHO CAN PRESENT MUSIC WITH THE AUTHORITY OF COUSIN BRUCIE, WHO ACTUALLY WORKED IN THE DAWN OF ROCK ERA AND IS STILL BROADCASTING TODAY.THERE LITERALLY WAS NOT ANOTHER RADIO SHOW LIKE THIS EVER.AND, THEY ARE RARE BUT HOW DO YOU DEFINE RARENESS?? LET ME TELL YOU!FIRST OF ALL THERE WERE NO MORE THAN 175 LP OR CD SETS OF EACH SHOW PRESSED. THIS IS BECAUSE THEY WERE SENT ONLY TO THE AFFILIATE RADIO STATION IN THE TOP 175 RADIO MARKETS IN THE COUNTRY AND ONLY ONE STATION IN EACH MARKET COULD AIR THE SHOW. STATIONS IN MARKETS BELOW THE TOP 175 (THERE ARE 306 MARKETS IN THE UNITED STATES) HAD TO PRESENT THE SHOW THROUGH THE SATELLITE FEED OF THE SHOW FROM THE SYNDICATOR OF THE SERIES)AND, DUE TO CONTRACTUAL LEGAL OBLIGATIONS, EACH RADIO STATION WAS ALLOWED TO AIR EACH SHOW EXACTLY ONCE AND NO MORE. SO, MOST RADIO STATIONS JUST THREW THEM AFTER AIRING SINCE THEY WERE USELESS TO THE STATION AFTER AIRING. THERE IS NO TELLING HOW MANY OF EACH SHOW SURVIVED. WHO KNOWS - THIS COULD BE THE ONLY ONE.WELCOME FELLOW EBAY COLLECTORS TO KEITH'S KOLLECTABLES, EBAY'S PREMIERE SELLER OF VINTAGE RADIO SHOWS OF EVERY GENRE AND UNIQUE COLLECTABLES GREETINGS FELLOW COLLECTORS OF GREAT MUSIC AND RARE CLASSIC RADIO SHOWS! OF COURSE THERE ARE LOTS OF OTHERS FOR YOU TO LOOK AT! Cousin Brucie started his career on 1010 WINS New York in 1959. At that time, WINS along with WMGM were the top rock n roll stations in New York City. (If you were there, you remember the jingle "1010 WINS New York") In 1960 he switched to AM 770, WABC, one of the most powerful radio outlets on the East Coast. WINS counter programmed with famous dj Murray The K but he was no challenge to Cousin Brucie! From 7 - 9 every evening, Cousin Brucie reigned! In 1965, Cousin Brucie introduced the Beatles during the first of their historic Shea Stadium Concerts. Morrow also had a close relationship with Elvis Presley. Cousin Brucie was at WABC for 13 years and 4,014 broadcasts when he jumped to WNBC for three years. In 1982 he returned to the airwaves on WCBS-FM in New York, remaining there until 2005. Shortly after, he joined Sirius Satellite Radio and is now back on New York broadcast radio for a weekend show. This show, Cruisin America began in 1986 and continued weekly until 1992 with a weekly three hour oldies trip through the early rock era along with special guests who would join Cousin Brucie in studio and special themes. These guests were not only from music but the entertainment world as well. His connections ran across the entertainment spectrum. This show is one of the best packaged radio shows ever produced and rivals or exceeds Dick Clark's Rock Roll and Remember. The album cover is beautiful as you can see in the picture. The Cue sheets are the best quality of any show I have ever seen. They are in full color and are in a packet of seven pages containing not only the song and commercial list but the promos used on each show and the information for stations that they needed to air it and printed on expensive bond paper. This show is a classic and needs to be in your collection. Whenever I list these shows they sell quickly because they are so rare and of such high quality. The CBS Radio Network took pride in all its syndicated shows and it shows in the production values of this one. I am sorry that I have gone on and on with this listing but that is how I feel about this show. I hope you feel the same way. THIS SHOW AIRED ON THE WEEKEND OF SEPTEMBER 9, 1988 AND WAS SHOW #88-37THE SHOW CONTENTS CAN BE SEEN IN THE LISTING PICTURES.EVEN THE COMMERCIALS ARE FUN AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. ON THIS SHOW YOU WILL HEAR SUCH MEMORABLE ONES LIKE SNICKERS, FLINTSTONES, PREGO, CBS-TV, AND MORE. SO WHAT ARE THE BIG QUESTIONS IF YOU ARE NOT SURE ABOUT WHAT EXACTLY ARE RADIO SHOWS? LET ME TELL YOU BUT FIRST....Allow me tell you my own personal story of discovering the wonder of radio shows. I discovered radio shows quite by accident while reading one of my favorite (long since departed) magazines called "Discoveries" (It was later bought by the same company that publishes "Goldmine" which I personally always considered a lesser publication, but that is another story. This was before ebay became the driving force in radio show sales (and everything else) in the later 1990's. I was especially attracted in "Discoveries" to a two page (or more) spread in each issue by a guy called "The Old Hippie". Let me tell you, the Old Hippie had it all. He was a real pioneer. Way before anyone knew what radio shows even were let alone that they could be bought as rarities, he had the market cornered. Most shows that he advertised were way beyond my budget but I drooled over those pages every issue and once in awhile I could afford one or two. Now, I have attempted in my own humble way to take on the mantle of "The Old Hippie". I have listed over 11,000 unique radio shows of all genres for you all to drool over, and most at prices, hopefully, that collectors can better afford! I want to make available to collectors what I could not afford and especially in these days of higher prices and lesser availability.Radio shows are harder and harder to find in quantity and the prices for the ones still out there just go higher and higher as they disappear from the market. However, because of my large presence on eBay, I am often contacted with selling offers, some of which I take advantage of and some I have to pass on because of the prices. I have found that by buying in bulk, even when many or most of the shows are lesser known but still amazing shows, I can offer the best prices on all titles. I want everyone to be able to have what they want for their collection. So, again, what is a radio show? Radio Shows are syndicated productions provided to radio stations usually on what is called a 'barter arrangement'. There were several large and small distributors who supplied broadcast product to radio stations normally during weekends when the usual air personalities have a break, although in recent years, through bigger companies absorbing smaller ones and many going out of business because the competition was just too fierce, there are only a few big syndicators left. This is sad because it has led to more homogenization of different formats and selection available for stations and often less creativity in the shows. Most aired on Saturday or Sundays. They often feature some of the best known voices for their genre from across the country thus the Dick Clark's and Casey Kasem's and Rick Dees and Dick Bartley and so many others. People collect them for various reasons. Some just collect the series because they like it and want them all. Some collect their favorite artists or genre of music. Rather than an album by the artist or a compilation downloaded through iTunes or wherever, they have a unique presentation of their favorite artist or music not available anywhere else and always with dj presentations which were very entertaining. Some collect interviews with their favorite artists as most shows had interview segments. Some collect commercials and as I said, even these old vintage commercials now bring back memories. Radio shows were first distributed on reel to reel tape or on CD and even later (after 2000 for most shows) on CDR. Now they are not available at all to collectors since they are distributed by digital download much like you get your music from iTunes. These shows become rarer and rarer every day because the people who buy them hold on to them. The shows that you get now and hold on to will never decrease in value and only increase. I have prided myself since the start to provide the best and fairest cost with a no holds barred guarantee that you will be happy or I refund your money. I sell them for near what I bought them for. I give volume discounts and discount postage always. As the postal service increases their rates, my shipping rates over the years has decreased. And, I have one of the biggest radio show libraries in the world consisting of over fifteen thousand of shows, so many that I don't even know all that I have and am sometimes amazed when I go to look for one show and find another that I did not realize I had. Finally, it is Americana at its best. Whether the show be from the 60's or 2000's, rock, countdown, oldies, country, classical, religious, jazz or big band, it is unique and home grown. And you just can't find them anywhere. Even record stores that still exist will rarely have any. Radio shows are wonderful representations of the real golden age of radio at least music wise. And every one you buy is an original, not a copy, not a remake - all are limited editions. Once you get hooked, like me, it is a love affair for life! So, I hope you will join me in this and many more wondrous voyages on the 'SS Keith's Kollectables' as we take exciting journeys together exploring the treasures of radio shows we grew up with and thought were long lost.May the lost be found!!
