Examples of these are seen on the edges of the sheets, representing the annual issues still to be issued. The Year of the Rat is celebrated from 12 February 2020 until 31 January 2021. Future designs of the heads of the animals to be depicted on the Lunar New Year stamps are also gold-embossed, and appear down the side margins of the blocks. Other issues in this series will be Year of the Ox (2021), Tiger (2022), Rabbit (2023), Dragon (2024), Snake (2025), Horse (2026), Goat (2027), Monkey (2028), Rooster (2029), Dog (2030) and Boar (2031). Each stamp is rich in color, with gold embossing in the side margins and above the title lettering. Each design has many adornments in Chinese and Asian folklore.
