Description: Up for sale, a 2011 Fender Telecaster ‘52 vintage reissue model TL52-TX in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original gigbag and Japanese warranty card. This Tele was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, offering stiff competition for Fender’s American Vintage series of instruments and uncommon outside its country of origin. Featuring an ash body, one-piece maple neck, brass bridge saddles, and a pair of factory-installed Fender Custom Shop Texas Special pickups, this guitar delivers on the promise of a classic Tele tonal palette. Fat and throaty in the neck position, chiming and cutting in the middle, and with a chewy, snappy sparkle and twang in the bridge position, this guitar covers traditional Tele ground, yet the slightly overwound Texas Specials offer a bit more midrange fullness and kick. Weighing 8lbs 4oz, we've had this Tele professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation. The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .850” deep at the 1st fret and .930” at the 12th. The fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4“ radius, and the slender fretwire is pristine. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the bone nut measures 1.650” (42mm) in width. On the headstock, the Kluson-style tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. The “Made in Japan” text and U-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate. All of the electronics work as they should, with the USA-made Fender Texas Special pickup pair wired to the stock harness. The vintage-style bridge retains the original trio of brass saddles, and the bridge base, knurled knobs and control plate have gleaming chrome plating. The body is accented by a one-ply matte black pickguard just like a genuine example from '52, and all flathead screws were used on this model further aligning with 1952 specs. As with many five-screw pickguards, there’s some minor warping across the guard that has no impact on playability. Cosmetic wear on the gloss Butterscotch finish is limited to a scant few tiny dings on the lower bout on top, and a handful of faint finish scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless. The original Fender-branded padded gigbag is included, along with the original Japanese warranty card.
