Description: This "One Dollar" medal was designed by Daniel Carr of the Moonlight Mint, but struck elsewhere. It is silver over bronze. The silver alloy was apparently made with a small amount of silver recovered from Ground Zero after the attack on the Twin Towers in NYC. The edge reads: "COMMONWEALTH N. MARIANA ISLANDS WORLD TRADE CENTER RECOVERY SILVER - 100 MIL CLAD". In other words, it is made of a very tiny amount of silver. It is mostly bronze. However, it is still an attractive piece with a proof finish. The edges have a purplish/brownish color. 40mm in diameter.Silver-Plated bronze. Thanks for looking!
