Description: This is a set of 2 stoneware pottery beer mugs from Old Colony Brewing Co -a very nice example of a turn of the century pre-prohibition salt glaze pottery beer mugs with a cobalt blue imprint. With its pre-prohibition era design (Prohibition was 1920 through 1933. The Old Colony Brewery Co of Boston opened in 1896 and closed down in 1910), they are a unique piece of history from the United States. The mugs features the iconic logo of the Old Colony Brewing Co, located in Boston Mass. Measures about 4.5” tall and has an opening of about 2.5” Fits 10 oz with some space left over. These mugs are perfect for beer enthusiasts and collectors alike. Add them to your collection of pre-prohibition breweriana and enjoy a piece of America's brewing heritage. See photos for superficial hairline crack to the inside of 1- does not go all the way through the pottery. There are production blemishes as well as some crazing. They are very usable and clean. With proper care they should last another century or two. Ships in a box well-protected. I have 2 sets of these mugs- this set (set A) is matched for color and are a cool grey/putty color. Enjoy!
