These historic Mardi Gras posters were originally purchased at a personal signing in New Orleans in 1987 when my mother was visiting an older brother who lived in Harvey. Andrea signed both her first 1986 (M80 - Mardi Gras) and her second 1987 (Mardi Gras Suite - Year II) in her signature 23 carat gold format. Little did anyone know at that time that Andrea Mistretta would become the Icon of Mardi Gras art history and longevity, now in the 37th year of her award winning Mardi Gras Suite of posters. I spoke with Andrea to remanence about by mother's poster purchase, and she indeed verified that these were her personally signed posters. A copy of her E-mail response will be shipped along with the posters to the new owner for authenticity purposes. The year 1 1986 poster measures 19" x 30", was published through Lorenzo Bergen Graphics and printed on Linweave Fine Paper by Boyd Brothers Printing. The 1987 poster measures 18" x 30" and was published through Cunningham Enterprises, Inc. Both posters are in glossy, pristine mint condition as is the wonderful matting and protective backing and blue mettalic frames that will accompany the art works so they are ready for immediate display.
