Description: Pair of beautiful antique bookends. Made by the Armor Bronze Co. from a design by artist John Ruhl. Two bookends made of chalkware and covered in a thin sheet of bronze. Circa 1920's. A Native American Indian man is seen riding his horse, his hand shading his eyes as he peers into the distance searching for something. Similar to “The End of the Trail” but telling a different story. Both rider and horse appear fatigued, but are determined and pushing on. 6 1/4" wide x 8" tall x 3 1/2" deep. Condition is used, very good. Each weighs a bit less 3 pounds 7 ounces. Armor Bronze, formerly The National Metalizing Company, began in 1910 in New York and New Jersey. Changing the name to Armor bronze about 1920, they produced art objects, statuary, and lamps.
