Description: Here is a beautiful copy of An Elegy For September by John Nichols. This is a first edition first printing as shown on the copyright page published by Henry Holt And Company in 1992. This novel contains some of Nichols’s finest work. It is simply a story about a fifty year old man meeting a nineteen year old girl who was everything he was when he was young. But this is hardly where it ends. John Nichols has written so eloquently here that it is hard to believe that he has written what I consider one of the most violent novels ever published in American Blood. An author who can do that is a talent beyond words and very much worth reading. This copy is truly lovely. The binding is square, tight, and the text is immaculate throughout. The grey boards are spotless as is the white speckled cloth spine. The gold gilt lettering on the cloth spine is pristine in condition as shown. There is a remainder stamp of a red star on the bottom page block also as shown in the photos provided. A previous book seller’s pencil notations are on the front free endpaper but very small indeed. The dust jacket is complete and has the original price present on the front flap. There is very little wear to this jacket mainly with slight wear at the spine ends and to the upper left corner of the front board. The four corners are in good condition. These are documented in the posted photos. This copy will make a wonderful addition to any collection or library.
