SUPERB Here is a tremendous quality antique French fine cut glass scent perfume bottle in its own fitted case. So the case... short blue leather with a fancy tooled gilt line border around the top. ...push button clasp. Open the box to see the glass scent bottle is inset into the cream velvet. The underside of the lid is cream silk with gold writing.. retailer... CATCHPOLE & WILLIAMS Ltd ( Late CJ Hill ) 510 OXFORD St W. So now FEAST your eyes on the wonderful clear cut glass scent - perfume bottle. It has been engraved to the finest quality on the 4 sides.. which has then had the corners bevelled off as well. The fine engraved detail includes... FLOWERS & FOLIAGE on two sides.. all different.. then a BIRD sat on a branch....then a winged CHERUB - Putti stood with a bow & arrow . The bottle is flat bottomed.. all polished glass....no pontil mark. Now to the top ... as you can see it is yellow gold colour with chip engraving design as well as GEM SET with a BIRD on top of the lid.. this bird matches the bird engraved on the front of the bottle. The bird has 4 tiny gemstones and ruby eye. The front where you gently push the lid to open it has two inset gemstone too...so gently push the hinged top.. and see the tiny cut glass stopper still in situ. At the back where the hinge is there are two French Paris hallmarks of the EAGLE HEAD indicating this is 18K carat gold....after 1847. Actual year might well be difficult to be certain. The bottle is 2 and 1/8th inch long x 3/8ths inch deep x 3/8ths inch.....the scent bottle weighs .....8.3grams. The leather box is nearly 3 inch long x 1 inch wide x 1/2 inch deep. Its a really beautiful little bottle this......worthy of being in any good collection. What a fabulous gift for someone special....or treat yourself... this item you cannot buy from a shop anywhere else in the world apart from me.
