Description: This was found with white paint all over the outside. It was stripped down to find the most beautiful layer of grain painting. 1880-90 cupboard with cubby hole interior, can floor stand or sit on another piece. 35” tall by 32” wide by 12.25” deep. Dovetail and square nail construction, missing lock. Interior looks to have been painted later (I’d say around 1930 or so) to match early exterior. Backboard has wallpaper on the inside. The incredible thing is that the back board itself is one large thick single board. They just don’t cut from trees that big anymore! Great country primitive storage with red grain painting. Lovely!
