Description: The antique engraved bookplate shows the arms of Reginald Gurney. The bookplate measures 3 inches wide by 4 1/4 inches high. Very good condition. Gurney, Reginald (1849 -1931), tenant of Earlham Hall, near Norwich, and later of Spixworth Park, Norwich, was the second, but eldest surviving, son of Francis Hay Gurney and Margaret Charlotte, daughter of Sir William Browne ffolkes, 2nd Baronet of Hillington, Norfolk. He was educated at Eton College and Trinity College Cambridge, where he was admitted a pensioner 25 September 1868, and took his B.A. in 1872. He became Manager of Gurney's Bank, Bury St Edmunds. He married Margaret Alice Maud, daughter of W. W. Robertson of the Bombay Civil Service 31 October 1889. They had no children. Domestic First Class Mail $2.00.
