19th C. Miniature Portrait Painting on Porcelain, French Gilt Bronze Frame (#10)

Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a lovely portrait painting on porcelain of a young woman in a blue and yellow dress with lace collar. The portrait has delicate, precise hand painted features with the woman having her gray hair held back from her face with a pink ribbon. The portrait is signed Bizet. The porcelain tile with the hand painted portrait is framed with a gorgeous embossed French gilt bronze frame with a decorative ribbon at the top. The frame has an easel back for standing with the back covered with taupe silk fabric that is very worn but could easily be replaced, if desired. The frame measures 5 1/2" high, 3 1/4" wide and 3/8" deep with the oval site measuring 3 1/2" by 2 1/4". Weighs 4.8 ounces. Both the painting and the gorgeous French frame are in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws.
